Happy 1st Birthday Grant

Grant had a great 1st birthday. We started the day with a few gifts from family and friends. Then we had a little gathering at the park and then when dad came home Grant had his first birthday cake. Complete with 2 naps and 2 baths...it was an exhausting day!

We brought cake pops for everyone to enjoy.

Grant did very well at the park and only ate some of the bark.

Grant tried some of the frosting, but doesn't like textures much and decided the plate tasted better than the actual cake!

Look at that...4 top teeth coming in all at once! Wow, that's a mouth full!!!

Happy Birthday Grant! We love you!!!

This Grass is Too Tall

The grass in our backyard was overgrown and while Grant did fine with the sand at the beach, he's not a fan of the grass...especially tall grass.

Finally he gets to the hammock and is rescued by dad.

Happy Easter

We had a great first easter with Grant. Here he is easter morning all ready for church. He looked so cute, but his shirt wouldn't stay tucked. This is right after I dressed him so he looks so cute and polished.

The easter bunny brought Grant a huge chick balloon and a mini giraffe pillow pet. He had to size up the balloon before he would touch it.

That afternoon we had some family and friends over for dinner and we had an egg hunt in the backyard. Grant wasn't sure what to do with the eggs, and isn't the biggest fan of grass so he stayed put.

The group enjoying candy and each other.

We hope your family enjoyed a nice easter too!

Fun at Laguna Beach

We took a family beach trip to Laguna Beach for a week. We got luck with great weather the whole time and had some relaxing fun in the sun.

As usual, everything went in Grant's mouth. I was impressed that he didn't just eat handfulls of sand. He still ate plenty of it, but it was from sticking other things in his mouth that were covered in sand, including his fingers.

Grant is very social and loved visiting other people on the beach. He hung out with this group for about half an hour and they were happy to let him chew on water bottles and rip up their magazines.

Ready for the beach!

Some of Jen's cousin's came to visit for the day and brought their little ones. Here is Grant with Miley and Lola. They had a lot of fun together.

Grant was a main attraction on the beach. People would stop and watch him. These people waited a few minutes for Jamie and Grant to turn around so they could say hello.

Grant isn't a fan of his sunglasses yet. We finally got him distracted enough to keep them on for a little while, but even then they didn't do much good. We will keep trying!

Grant is ready for the waves. Maybe next year.

Always Standing

Grant loves to stand and walk around our coffee table. He is getting more stable every day and will be walking before we know it!

This Can't be Comfortable

This is how we find Grant asleep much of the time. I don't see how it can be comfortable, but he's been teething so maybe this opens his airway a bit better.
