Merry Christmas

We are lucky to be friends with the "real Santa". He took time out of his busy schedule and made a special visit to our home and took pictures with Grant in front of our tree. It was so fun.

Santa loves Grant.

Grant loves Santa, especially his beard.

Jamie and I take pictures with Santa every year. It was amazing to be able to have Grant with us this year. It is going to be a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Rocking and Rolling

I finally got Grant rolling over. He actually did all his tricks in one quick little video. He's rocking and rolling and once he figures out the coordination of his hands and feet we are in trouble! Maybe by Christmas. :)

Happy Boy

We love that Grant is so good natured and such a happy boy! I was trying to get him rolling over, but this shows off his cute laugh and his funny grunts.

Big 6-month Old

We can't believe Grant is already 6-months old! We went to the doctor on Tuesday and he just raved about how great Grant looks and how calm and happy he is. He weighed 17.9 lbs and he is solid! He is eating a lot of rice cereal and baby food now and just in the last few days is rolling around with a purpose to get somewhere, and has started making raspberries with his mouth.

Grant after eating in his high chair. He is getting to be such a busy boy, lots to do and wants to play.

EVERYTHING goes in the mouth. He gets his eye on something and wants it in his mouth to figure it out.

Our Beach Boy

We flew to LA a few weeks ago to visit some friends. It was Grant's first time in the airplane. He was strapped to me and did a great job of keeping the headphones on. He loved it! It was also his first time visiting the ocean.

Grant having a snack during the flight.

We didn't have much daylight left by the time we got to the beach.

Getting his first feel of the sand and the ocean.

Happy Halloween!

Grant had a great 1st halloween. We didn't take him trick-or-treating, but we went to a few parties. He was a shark this year, which is a favorite of Jen's. Luckily the weather cooled off because Grant run's hot normally, and the costume was very warm!

"Little Chuck"
Jamie went to our church party wearing this fake mustache (he said he was Jen's dad). When we got home he couldn't resist letting Grant try it on as well.

Jen dressed Grant up for her Halloween party at the Senior Center where she teaches Aerobics. You can't see the letter on her shirt, but she was a black-eyed "P".

Mommy's Favorite Shark!

Grant 5 Months Old

Grant is 5 months old now. He is starting to eat baby food (doesn't like the green peas) and can turn himself around on his stomach, and rolls over a little. Not mobile yet, but soon. He is a drooling champ and we can't see any teeth yet, but everything goes in his mouth and he loves to have his gums rubbed. He is still as sweet as ever and is very happy and social.

This is his serious look. He does this when he reaches for things.

Everything goes in the mouth!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch last weekend. It is on a farm just down the street from our house and it was fabulous. We took a little hay ride over to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkin. They also had quite a few baby animals the kids could pet and watch, a little corn maze and some toys. We had a great time.

Grant in a Pool

We hung out with friends the other weekend and Grant got in a pool for the first time. The water was in the 70's so it wasn't very warm, but after a minute he liked it.

Grant 4 Months Old

Grant is now 4 months old. He had his well visit last Tuesday and he weighed in at 14 lbs, 13 oz. The doctor said he looks perfect and even asked the secretary to come in and see this beautiful boy! He is more alert and active every day. Although he is drooling like a champ he doesn't seem to be teething yet. He is starting to grab his feet and we are adding rice cereal to his bottles at night. I tried feeding him with a spoon yesterday and he isn't sure what to do with it yet. He laughed at the funny feeling of the spoon against his gums and lips, but just let the cereal sit there and then drooled it out!

Laughing Grant

Grant is getting so big so fast! He will be 4 months on Friday. He is starting to roll over, but I don't think he's totally aware of what he's doing all the time. I keep trying to get it on video, but nothing yet. I've been trying to post 2 different videos, but I think they are too long and they won't post. So I got this one to post, he is laughing more and more every day!

Where's Grant?

Where's Grant? Can you find him on the changing table?

Here I am!!!

I can't believe how similar these fabrics are. I seem to be drawn to the same colors and prints. Funny how that happens.

3 Months Old

We can't believe Grant is already 3 months old!

I shouldn't try to do this alone. I had the perfect smile and of course my camera was moving so he's a little cut off. Still too cute!

He just started doing this tongue thing yesterday.

This face melts my heart. Love you buddy!!!

Grant's Room

We have finally got Grant's room ready! We still need to hang some things on the walls, but
other than that we are really happy with the way the room turned out.

I had picked out the flannel before he was born, and the crib and chair were my sis-in-laws. I am really happy with how the rag quilt turned out, and how well everything coordinates. I got lucky finding things I liked that matched well with the room. And the changing table is awesome!!! I think the changing table and bookcase are functional and offer a lot of extra storage.

We hope you enjoyed your tour! :)

My Sunshine

Here is Grant talking to me. I apologize in advance for the terrible singing, I really don't like to hear my voice on tape...but he is just too darn cute! Enjoy at your own risk! :)

Proud to be 2 months old

I couldn't get him to smile without adding the arms in with it. Too funny.

Here is Grant at 2 months old. His check-up was on the 4th and he weighed 11 lbs, 14 oz, and was 22 inches long. He was in the 50th percentile for weight, 20th for height. I was sure we were over feeding him. Some nights he would eat 8-10 oz before going to bed, but he is doing just fine. He hardly ever spits up and what goes in definitely comes out! :) He is smiling and cooing more each day. It's so fun that he is responding to us more. He is a great baby and we love him so much.
