Ath the Zoo

Over Thanksgiving we went to the Hogle Zoo with Jen's family. It was fun but super cold outside. Luckily we were able to spend a fair amount of time inside the buildings.

A few of us made the mistake of touching the ball...the water was really cold!

There were plenty of carts and strollers available free of charge which was nice.

Cole and Hendrix trying to stay warm.

I think there were supposed to be penguins. Grant is still looking for them.

We had a great time and got hot chocolate afterwards.

Cole's Funny Faces

At Thanksgiving I was trying to take advantage of the extra hands and get some good pictures of Cole, but he kept making the funniest faces. Here are some of my favorites:

Finally sleep won him over.

Thanksgiving

We went to Utah for Thanksgiving and spent the day with most of Jen's family. It was cold but beautiful and we had a great weekend. Here is Grant with his Great Grandpa Thorald.

Here is Grant having a little nap with his Great Grandma Lola Gene...he played so hard in the gym at the church.

Grant hit the dessert table and snagged himself a chocolate cookie. Can you tell he knew he wasn't supposed to have it?

Cute Cole. Cole eats so much more than Grant did, or does! Jen calls him "sweet cheeks".

Grant tried out the rolls to make sure they were yummy.

Table 1 of 2...the Thanksgiving spread.

Table 2 of 2. I wish I could say Grant ate more of it than he did.

Grant's 1st Haircut

We decided it was time to cut Grant's hair. He sat pretty still on my lap while Jamie used out electric trimmer. We think he looks pretty handsome.

Apple Hill

We visited Apple Hill for the first time a few weekends ago. It was cold but a beautiful clear fall day. We tried homemade apple cider and donuts and got some pie and apple crisp to bring home.

Waiting for our apple cider donuts

Outside one of the farms Grant had a great time running around and enjoying the play area for the kids.

This boy loves stairs!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween. Grant was a green dragon and Cole was a skeleton. Grant had skeleton pj's that he wore Halloween night so they could match.

We didn't take Grant trick-or-treating because he doesn't really get it and he would just want to either follow other kids around or run into the street, but our Church does a "trunk-or-treat" activity every year (usually a few days before Halloween) where we have chili and games inside and then the kids trunk-or-treat in the parking lot. Grant had a great time!

Jamie dressed-up as "Chuck" (my dad). He'll probably wear this mustache for the next 5 years!

Grant loved the sucker but not the mustache.

Cole, our cute skeleton.

Grant interrupted the cupcake walk by turning off the music to soon.

The gym had two big trash cans on wheels we were using to clean-up after the chili. I think this was Grant's favorite part of the evening. He loves things he can push or pull and he couldn't decide which trash can he liked to push more.

The adults spread their cars out and decorate their trunks with lights and music and things. Grant wasn't into getting the candy, but loved all the decor and lights.

Sunday night Grant and I carved his pumpkin. I think it turned out really cute.

Grant and Cole Halloween night. We tried to get Grant to pose with Cole but he wasn't having it.

Grant had had enough posing. I guess we should have done this sooner than bedtime!

Grant retaliated by getting into the moss he knows he's not supposed to touch. I guess he showed us!

Visiting the Pumpkin Farm

A few weeks ago we went to get our pumpkin. This is the same farm we went to last year. It's just a few miles from our house and it's great because they have so much stuff for the kids to do and they take you on a hayride to pick out your pumpkin and it's not super busy.

Grant was very excited about the wagon's.

They had a few dogs and cats and then all the fun farm animals like chickens, pigs, cow's and horses.

On the hayride Grant made friends with this family and didn't want to sit with us.

Grant picked out his pumpkin.

This is Grant with our neighbors. Thomas was having fun kissing the cows.

Happy Grant with his pumpkin.
